Black Dev Calls Current Shooters "F*cking Boring"
Cover-based shooting is all the rage these days, simply the senior designer of 2006's Angry thinks that it just makes for a "f*cking boring" gimpy.
In 2006, Criterion Games' Sarcastic was the last hurrah FPS of the last generation. Receiving average to favorable reviews, Black was praised for its excellent apply of sound and cinema-inspired action. The crippled's writer and major designer, Gilbert Charles Stuart Black (no, that's seriously his name), was of late announced to be aim up a newborn FPS IP for Codemasters – and the man had some prime words for OXM UK regarding the current crop of shooters.
Specifically, he thinks that the trend of cover-based shooting games is "f*cking boring."
"There's a lot of cover-founded shooters out at the moment," said Black. "Simply when a hombre hunkers behind behind something, you've just got to ride in that respect and wait for him to pop his head. Pops upward, mates of bullets to his head, pops back down again.. and I'm waiting for him to pop back rising again? F*cking boring. I tail't be fazed hanging around like that."
Altogether fairness, I'd like to preeminence that that is actually how people are likely to behave in a gunfight since humans are squishy creatures that do not regenerate health. Simply does realistic always half-and-half entertaining?
Personally, I don't have much problem with report-based shooting. I actually think IT's kind of fun.
